Boldly Stepping Forward with Confidence On YOUR Way to an Amazing Life
“In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
Now is the time for transformation! We want something new, something better, something different in our lives so we feel more alive and more fulfilled. Does this speak to your heart? It does mine. We have been through major upheavals in the last year or so. We’ve had time to think and assess our lives. But wanting to and actually stepping forward with confidence are two different things. Let’s talk about how you bridge the gap between desire and action.
But first, what does stepping forward with confidence mean?
It isn’t a mental act or the setting of a new goal for yourself to achieve. Instead, it’s a process of identifying and understanding what keeps you stuck and then embodying new beliefs and new practices that support your new future. It is a dynamic process that involves your WHOLE being.
Stepping Forward is not about planning a journey, it’s about taking it — one baby step at a time. Some people like to jump into a project; while others run from point to point. I personally think it creates lasting transformation when you identify your target then take it slowly and steadily. Think about what Martin Luther King Jr. said, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
Do you remember Aesop’s Parable of The Tortoise and The Hare? Slow and steady won the race. But it wasn’t just the way they moved that mattered. It was Attitude that determined the outcome. The tortoise was insightful and confident; she knew his limitations, yet she wasn’t afraid of what others thought or said. She had reasoned out what she was going to do…and she did it, despite all odds!
Likewise, for us today, Stepping Forward with confidence requires mindful self-knowledge, vulnerability, and being fully present in mind, body and spirit. It requires that we cast off our defeatist baggage — our self-limiting mindsets of being an insecure follower or even a martyr.
That part is hard, but many of you are doing that already. Congratulations! The really difficult part comes when it’s time to shine a light on yourself and become more visible to others. That’s when it will require you to take a huge leap of faith…faith in yourself that you can do it, that you deserve more.
Are you ready to be an audacious adventuress who charts a new course to an amazing life?
Ultimately this is YOUR life, YOUR journey. You’re the one who has to be happy and satisfied with how it’s lived. Throughout our lives, we receive indicators that it’s time to correct the course in our life’s journey. Perhaps you can relate to mine…
About 15 years ago, I was trapped in a mental prison of my own making. For as much motivation I had to move forward and upgrade my life, I had as much, or even more, resistance. I realized that the resistance was a combination of…
limiting beliefs,
paralyzing fears,
obsessing over pleasing others,
unrealistic expectations,
and a fear of failure.
I had so much I wanted to do, yet I was the one stopping myself from accessing my full potential. I worked hard to learn to believe and trust in myself again. I took to heart what Jim Rohn said, “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” I started paying attention to the processes and systems that created the greatest impact in my life. Some are seemingly insignificant; some are major breakthroughs. Combined, they form a road map for Stepping Forward into creating my life of meaning and fulfillment. It works for me; I know it will work for you.
Therefore, I have some big news! I’m writing a workbook and launching it and my new Stepping Forward Program next year. I have chronicled the steps and I’m revealing everything I’ve learned along the journey of Stepping Forward. I’m outlining everything I’ve learned into a roadmap that will make your journey easier.
I invite you to learn from my experience of Stepping Forward with confidence, as I have connected the dots along the way. It’s like what Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”
